Good News Sabela Africa October 2022

 Machaba Safaris Sustainable from A – Z

You are only as strong as your team, so the importance of surrounding yourself with likeminded, passionate and caring staff is imperative. At Machaba Safaris they do just that. Fortunate to have several communities surrounding the National parks where they operate, Machaba can provide employment and upliftment at the same time. The team of Machaba and its various camps share the same goal of protecting, educating and conserving, thereby supporting tourism and also strengthening the community in becoming more sustainable. Please take a minute to have a look at the video where General Manager of Ngoma Safari Lodge, Nelson, illustrates the importance of giving back. https://youtu.be/SyFj6vpB-tk

Life is about Change, Update on the Sabela Africa -Namibia Portfolio

Over the last 2 decades most of the Classic Namibia members were part of my portfolio and it has been 20 years of trade and tourism fun and games. Always hard work and sometimes tough times. The latter a time in our lives we don’t even want to think about. As it is the dreadful Covid brought with it unplanned change and resulted first with the departure of Okahirongo Lodges from the portfolio after they were bought by new owners.

The second change came in when I decided to resign from the representation of the Wolwedans Collection. For as long as I can remember Stephan and his team were part of my family and for those years, I want to thank him personally and will cherish this special part of Namibia in my heart. What an inspiring time it was. I wish Stephan all the best with all the tremendous work he is doing and for his future endeavours.

Focusing my efforts on more exclusive representation and therewith being able to offer more of my time to a selective group of partners the next step was to minimize even more. And I am very happy to say,  that my exclusive, boutique portfolio in Namibia now only consist of Onguma, Chiwani Safari Camps (Mowani & Camp Kipwe) and Otjimbondona. I am proud to be the voice and face for the three of them and look forward to seeing you in your office or at the next trade show with updates.

I also want to express my gratitude towards all the other Classic Namibia partners for trusting me with their “babies” and allowing me to be part of their families, some for a longer time than others. It has been a life changing journey and I wish all of you only the best.

The closure of the Classic Namibia chapter also closes the Classic Namibia Facebook and Instagram channels. Please make sure you follow us on hellasabela on Instagram and our Facebook page.

Robin Pope Safaris with a bouquet of excellent agent news.

Have you already seen the upgraded and refurbished Luangwa River Camp? The camp now comes across as fresh, new and vibrant. Absolutely the perfect alternative to Nkwali if your clients prefer a touch of more sophistication and safari chic and are maybe not yet that bush savvy. Robin Pope Safaris has got fantastic new picture material. Have a look here at Luangwa River Camp and at the same time there is also a selection of new images for my all-time favourite Kuthengo Camp in Malawi, as well as Mkulumadzi and Pumulani.
