Alistair Rankin has many years of experience in the safari business as a guide, camp manager and managing director with renowned companies in South Africa. Based on this wealth of experience, he has been instrumental in setting up Machaba Safaris in Botswana since 2012 and is now successfully expanding into Zimbabwe. His wife Wendy Rankin is responsible for the reliable implementation and marketing of her husband's visions.
Probably one of the remotest camps in the north-west of Hwange National Park sits Deka Camp. The camp is situated on a private concession allowing Machaba Safaris also to offer night drives in Hwange National Park
The small intimate camp has 6 units and all of them made of thatch, rock and canvas. This captivating camp is ideal for exclusive use to one group at a time. All the comforts you could need are present in the rooms which all blend in with the environment but offers first-class style
The camp overlooks the Deka floodplains and seeps which are the headwaters of the Deka river.
