Okahirongo River Camp

The Okahirongo River Camp is located in the very north of the Kaokoveld on the border where the Kunene river forms the border between Namibia and Angola. It is a pleasant contrast to see the life-giving course of the river in the middle of a barren and supposedly lifeless desert. The Kaokoland is one of the most pristine and undeveloped areas of Namibia. Rugged roads and a lack of infrastructure have helped to preserve the beauty of this region. Endless plains of sweeping grass, hard rocky areas, dramatic mountains and the gorges are only some of the landscape features that are so typical for the region.
